Yair Garbuz

In his film 12.5.1975 (1975), Yair Garbuz followed the production process of stencil booklets created by a number of artists - Tamar Getter, Michal Na'aman, Efrat Natan, David Ginton, David Avidan and Garbuz himself - in collaboration with the Gordon Gallery in Tel Aviv. The film is structured as a sort of conceptual collage, based on associative thinking and simple everyday materials. In certain parts of the film, which have a markedly performative quality, Garbuz is seen in a café, where he intentionally produces scholarly "Parisian clichés" about cinema and art (even though he had yet to travel outside Israel at that time).

Born in Givataim, 1945; lives and works in Ramat Gan
